The Body	We assume we all have good health. Goodness, no, it's not quite that easy! Let's just eat real food.
	You think I'm going to try to sell you some natural pills, don't you?
Natural Cures	I'm not. My nutritionist at SCCA, Seattle Cancer Care Alliance, said, "I do not want you taking any pills. Take 5,000 mg of vitamin D-3 for one month to get your levels up. Then, take 1,000 mg of vitamin D-3 a day for the rest of your life. No other pills. Get your nutrition from your food." (I know my research was productive because she was supposed to meet with me for an hour. Two and a half hours later, she said, "I have to go! I have another appointment. Thank you, I have learned something from you here today. Please send me that link to the Alkaline Food Chart.") You can get your vitamin D-3 at your health food store. No, not the grocery store unless they sell Nature Made. That's the only commonly available brand that is remotely efficacious.

	Ironic thing was that this had been my email signature for years. You know that justification we make of "it's healthy...enough"? It wasn't.
	I googled everything that exists about lumpectomies, recurrence and hideous disfigurations. Then, it hit me. (Yes, it took months.) There was only one choice. I got a double mastectomy and a complete breast reconstruction. I awoke with a cute boob job! I get to buy all new bikinis!
	Aren't you going to tell me you had a "Come to Jesus" moment and I should too?
Vegetables	No. That was during the biopsy. Let's just say that when you're at a pain level of 10 for four hours, there's nothing you can do but pray. And then I tried to bleed out for an hour. (I ate cheese after enduring that 14 hour ordeal "they" said would just take an hour, and I felt no guilt nor remorse over eating it!) Prior to the hellacious biopsy, I used to "return to my place of grief" after I finished doing anything. I was always a bubbly person; I was just most comfy being morose, sad and a little bit whiny (A little bit!?!) whenever I stopped moving. I don't have time for that any more. I choose to "return to my Happy Place" now! I'm not telling you what to do here; I'm just telling you what I like now. What you choose is up to you, not me. Sure, I still yell at dreadful drivers. But, I don't fester with frustration, death threats and gestures for a half hour afterwards now. I go, "Oh, look, shiny!" And I drive on my way, happily.

Fruits	I don't have anything in these pages that I'm trying to sell you. Sorry. Just excess happiness here. A year after the double mastectomy I'm happy, productive and healthy! Sharing the joy is contagious. Soon, I'll add the data about the four mushrooms "established medicine" is starting to recognize for cancer-proofing your body; the five cancer-fighting spices; the categories of fruits and vegetables SCCA recommended to me; the exercise they recommended (a half hour per day of any exercise); and more about the "M" word they kept using with me. 	I used to have painful joints. Turning "over 50" is such a delight. My left hip hurt for 16 months. (I didn't whine about it!) I'm not here to sell you acai berry juice. That's not the point. The focal point here is get your antioxidants from the food you choose to eat!
Sources, Benefits and Uses	The next revelation I had from my googling was this: Some day someone is going to discover that a vitamin D-3 deficiency is a cause behind some major illnesses like cancer and MS. (Why do you think Seattle is a hotbed for MS? Do you see much sunshine here?) In the meantime, "they" aren't going to take care of your health, and neither am I. But, you sure can! You can get vitamin D-3 at your own health food store. I'm not selling it here; I'm selling happiness.
Fast Foods, GMOs and Ill Health	Here's a small revelation to tide you over! Cancer will not grow in an alkaline body. I ate raw broccoli while I studied this for weeks. Lots of raw broccoli. After a multitude of studied webpages, I discovered that the best thing you can do for yourself is to eat raw broccoli. 	Here's just a tiny bit of cancer fighting research to whet your whistle. Just a tiny modicum of the data that's available to you out there!
Natural Cancer Fighters	Mushrooms. The best part about researching the potential of the four mushrooms being efficacious against cancer was finding the MD Anderson hospital in Houston, Texas' name at the bottom of some of the pages. If MD Anderson is looking further into the mushroom research, then it is headed for being mainstream. The four mushrooms are Shiitake, Maitake, Reishi and Turkey Tail. 	Personally, I make a tea out of the mushrooms, using just one type at a time. I don't use pills or capsules because getting the natural nutrition is incredibly healthier. (That nutrionist from SCCA, Seattle Cancer Care Alliance, said, "I don't want you taking any pills except for your one of 1,000 mg. of vitamin D-3 daily." I was listening.) I buy the mushrooms on eBay because the prices there are lower than anywhere else. You can buy dried ones for $10.00 to $15.00 in small quantities that will last you several months. 	Hibiscus. I also get real hibiscus from the dried hibiscus plants from Jamaica from eBay. A pound is $10.00 including shipping. It lasts a few months. It makes a delicious tea that does not need any sugar added to it. The green tea has far more antioxidants than any other tea Americans regularly drink. Exponentially! Picture green tea as 50 to 100 times higher than the plain black tea. White tea is another 50 to 100 times times than green tea. Hibiscus is another 500 to 1,000 times higher than the white tea. Off the charts. But, that's a whole other avenue that has nothing to do with mushrooms except it's another thing on your kitchen counter that will benefit you when you put it in your body. 	Does any of this natural stuff work? Scientifically, we can now answer yes. Emotionally, mentally and spiritually, we can answer yes. Unequivocally. Envision it this way. You put some healthy herbs into your body and you think, "I am fighting off cancer with this." Placebo or not, what did you just tell your body to do? You get up each day and you drink some mushroom tea and some hibiscus tea instead of a Bloody Mary for breakfast. You just chose to live. Yes, you did. You would not have consumed those teas if you did not wish to live. You can ask yourself, "What did I ingest today that is helping me to fight cancer?" If the answer is nothing, then you are not interested in fighting off cancer, therefore the diseases we're susceptible to can consequently win...unless I die ski jumping or four-wheeling or sky diving first!
